Today's article will be focused on how to fix the problem so that you can actually fix the issue and get Windows/PC to recognize your Samsung Galaxy S6/S7 or any Samsung phone that's giving the same issue.
Fix Galaxy S5, S6, S7 Won't Connect To Computer
Method 1. Download the Samsung USB Drivers on the Computer
Step 1. Download USB drivers and install it on your computer.
Step 2. Connect your Samsung device using an original USB cable.
Step 3. Your phone will show a prompt on the screen. Drag down the notification area and select an option of your choice.
If the above drivers didn't work out for you, and your Galaxy S6/S7 is still not recognized by your PC then try to use Smart Switch.
Step 1. Download and run Smart Switch on your computer(You need to disconnect your Galaxy S6/S7 if it's connected to PC via USB cable).
Step 2. Click on "MORE" and select "Reinstall Device Driver" option.
Step 3. Now connect your phone again to your computer using data cable.
Method 2. Change USB configuration to MTP
You might be getting this issue because you have not properly configured the connection type on your Galaxy S6/S7. It should be on MTP (Media Transfer Protocol)
Step 1. Go to Settings -> About Device -> Tap on Build Number for seven times. Then you will see a pop up saying, Developers options enabled.
Step 2. Go back to Settings-> Developer Options. Change USB configuration to MTP, if charging or some other option is selected.
Method 3. Fix Galaxy S6/S7 USB Connection Unrecognized Device Error
Solve this issue by clearing cache and performing factory reset from recovery menu.
Step 1. Turn off your phone.
Step 2. Press Volume Up + Home + Power button simultaneously. Keep on holding the buttons till you see Samsung logo on the screen.
Step 3. Now youre in recovery menu. Here you can use volume buttons to navigate and power button to select.
First wipe cache of your system. (It wont delete any data present in your phone)
Even after wiping cache if Galaxy S6/S7 not recognized on your computer. Then go for factory reset. The option to perform full factory reset is present in the recovery menu as well.
