Free Printable Cards Funny Autumn pinterest
In this post: If you're looking for cute thematic recipe cards for your favorite fall and Thanksgiving recipes, you'll love these free printable recipe cards.⇒
Who doesn't have a recipe they love to share with the world?
Even my mom, who frankly hated to cook, had her special holiday recipes that made her seem like Julia Child.
Yet when I asked her for those recipes, they came on half torn scraps of paper, impossible to read and with missing quantities and details. Always written in pencil and in danger of imminent disintegration, I couldn't understand why she didn't use recipe cards.
When she passed and we cleaned out her house, I found multiple scraps of paper with recipes for the same items. Clearly written from memory each time, they never had the exact same ingredients or measurements.
Because, of course, that's how she got them from her own mother.
In an effort to break the tradition of recipes that were more clues than directions, I vowed to use proper and neatly filled-out recipe cards.
And in time, I started to design my own.
Today I'm joining with an awesome group of bloggers for a wonderful blog hop hosted by the very talented Kristen from Ella Claire & Co. This is one of my favorite hops because it's unique in that it brings together a creative pool of bloggers who each share their DIY printables.
The topic this time is fall printables and each post will offer a free printable that you can download yourself with instructions on how to use it. Please be sure to visit the complete array of posts linked at the bottom of this one.
I'm typically not the one who shares my recipes, but my recipe cards… that's another story.
My talents lean more toward design than cooking, so I'm sharing today a new FREE printable for the fall season. It's for printable recipe cards tailored to your most loved fall and Thanksgiving recipes.
Use them in your own recipe box or share them with a loved one.
The artwork was designed for a 4″ x 6″ card, although if you're good with printer settings, you can adjust for other sizes.
I'm also offering it two ways. For those who want the look of a perfectly cut finished card, I recommend buying 4″ x 6″ blank cards and printing directly on them.
If you prefer to print on paper you already have, I've also provided an option to print on 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper and cut out the cards with a scissor or paper cutter.
In either case, I suggest using heavyweight card stock and setting your printer on the highest quality print setting. I choose 'photo quality' and select the 'matte photo paper' setting on my printer.
These days many of us find our recipes on line. Maybe we do a search each time or perhaps we even save them to our computers. But the random downloaded recipe files that are jumbled in a mess in our documents are today's version of my mom's torn scraps of paper.
Why not add a note of grace to your life by using seasonal printable recipe cards?
- You can see a close up view of the artwork below, first how it comes on the 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheets with 2 recipe cards to a sheet, and below that, how it comes if you're printing directly on 4″ x 6″ cards. In both cases the finished size of the cards is 4″ x 6″.
- Do not print from the artwork below as it's not optimal print quality (which is why you see the "sample" watermark). Instead follow the instructions for downloading the printer-quality artwork.
